Downloading files in the field

On our recent trip to the Masai Mara we were reminded just how important computer hardware has become these days. Today’s photographer not only has to travel with a cart load of cameras and lenses we also have to carry a small IT department as well. We now travel with computers which not too long ago required; a special environment and a team of highly trained people to operate. All this computer equipment is so that we can preserve the pictures we have taken, while we are away from home.

As soon as we return home all our photographic efforts are copied onto a computer which does need a room of its own. What with the size of the monitors, external hard drives, Wacom pads, scanners and printers which we need these days. The one consolation is that at least our travelling systems have over the last few years got smaller and perhaps more important lighter.

Our travelling systems have evolved over the years. However, this evolution has not been without its blind alleys and costs. So if you are in the market for a new backup, downloading solution to take with you or would just like to gloat that your system is better. Then why not take advantage of our experiences and disasters and read on. This may inspire you to change or improve you current methodology or as mentioned previously, gloat.

Bird feeding reminder

Fri, 13 Nov 2009 15:59:03 +0000  Permalink

The berries and autumn fruits our birds have relied on for the last couple of months are starting to run short. Without natural foods, birds are going to need our help to survive the coming winter months. So do your bit. Get in a fresh supply of food, clean your feeders and start feeding. This is a sure fired way of getting your feeding station on the list of desirable places to visit. Oh, and please don’t forget, once you start feeding do continue, your birds will become reliant on your food for survival so don’t suddenly stop the food supply.

Until next time

Underwear, is important

There are many things to consider when planning a safari, but one item ladies you should not forget, is your underwear. Bouncing around all day in the back of a Land Rover unsupported by a bra can be extremely painful. From personal experience I recommend wearing a good fitting sports bra.

You will enjoy your safari more and your bust will be eternally grateful. It doesn’t matter what bust size you are, all that bouncing around will cause discomfort as the delicate breast tissue is damaged.

If you are stuck for where to buy a good sports bra, then help is at hand. I have found an online retailer, Boobydo,  Their website is easy to use, has a wide selection of bras to fit all sizes. Ordering is very simple and free returns are available, should you not be satisfied.

I tried the SportJock Action Sports Bra from Boobydo. It comes with a coolmax inner lining, to help keep you cool in the hot and sticky weather. An added benefit is that it can also be worn as a bikini style top.

As way of a recommendation I have just ordered 3 more bras from Boobydo a testament to the quality the product and my outstanding shopping experience. If you have experienced difficulty in getting good quality bras then please give Boobydo a try.
