Tea break

8 Sep , 2017

Sitting in the garden having a tea break, with birds chattering away in the trees, flying over our heads to get to the hanging feeders, made me think how wonderful the small things in life are. To sit soaking up the sunshine watching the birds, listening to the sounds of nature all round.

The small things matter; the changing colour of the leaves from green to autumn golds, fungi sprouting in the wood and lawn, these events like a million others are the lifeblood of our ecosystem. But because they’re small they often get overlooked, overshadowed by bigger events.

We need to be mindful of the small events, work in harmony with everything around us. After all we’re all part of the natural world. It isn’t out there to discover it’s happening all around us. We’re just one element of the ecosystem.
