Building a bird feeding station

14 Aug , 2017

We have just released another video blog, on You Tube. In this episode, we’re talking about building a bird feeding station for photographing birds.

Using a tree trunk held upright in a Christmas tree holder to provide a perch to photograph the birds. Next; we drill holes into the trunk. Then fill the holes with suet logs. This provides an incentive for birds to land on the log.

In addition to the suet logs, we have also been experimenting, with a method of putting a peanut feeder into the log. This we hope will provide another type of food, one that the birds are more use to as we use peanut feeders in our garden.

At the end of the video, you’ll see some video we shot using the trunk.
